Investment Advisory Analysts support senior advisors, portfolio managers, and investment teams in delivering customized investment strategies to clients. The role blends investment research, portfolio analysis, and client reporting, serving as a foundational analytical position within advisory and investment management organizations.
These roles typically involve close collaboration with advisors, portfolio managers, research teams, and risk and compliance professionals to ensure portfolios align with client objectives, risk tolerance, and market conditions.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the development and maintenance of client investment portfolios and model strategies
Analyze portfolio performance, asset allocation, and risk exposures relative to benchmarks
Conduct market, macroeconomic, and asset-class research to support investment recommendations
Assist in portfolio construction, rebalancing, and implementation activities
Prepare client-ready materials, including performance reports, investment reviews, and portfolio commentary
Monitor portfolios for guideline adherence, risk limits, and suitability considerations
Support due diligence on investment products, funds, and managers
Respond to client and advisor inquiries with clear, data-driven insights
Assist with investment-related reporting, presentations, and ad-hoc analysis
Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field
Strong understanding of investment principles, portfolio theory, and financial markets
Exposure to asset allocation, investment products, and portfolio analytics (preferred)
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Python, SQL, or financial databases is a plus
Ability to translate complex investment concepts into clear, client-friendly insights
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven, client-focused environment
Demonstrated interest in investment advisory, portfolio management, and long-term investing
