Dodds Oliver James is currently supporting an MGU/P&C insurance client with the appointment of a Accounting Financial Systems Leader. This role is responsible for driving accounting-led transformation initiatives across a global insurance platform. This role sits inside Finance, partners closely with the CFO, and owns delivery of accounting, reporting, regulatory, and operating model change – not IT delivery.###
** What You’ll Own
*** Lead finance initiatives tied to accounting, reporting, controls, and regulatory change
* Drive delivery of IFRS 17, SAP-enabled finance change, and accounting process modernization
* Partner directly with CFO, Controllership, FP&A, Actuarial, and Risk
* Translate accounting and regulatory requirements into clear execution plans
* Own scope, priorities, timelines, and delivery for Finance-led initiatives
* Support Finance leadership with steering committees, decision papers, and progress reporting
* Ensure projects align with US GAAP, IFRS, statutory, and regulatory obligations
* Oversee cross-functional execution while keeping accounting outcomes front and center
* Identify and mitigate risks impacting financial reporting, controls, and compliance
* Support budget oversight and financial discipline across Finance initiatives###
** What They’re Looking For
*** 8-10+ years delivering Finance-led initiatives in insurance or financial services
* Strong understanding of:  + Accounting & financial reporting  + Finance operating models  + Regulatory and statutory requirements
* Experience supporting large-scale accounting change (IFRS 17 strongly preferred)
* Comfortable partnering with senior finance leadership and steering committees
