Senior Accountant

Overview

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accurate execution of core accounting, close, compliance, and reporting processes across retail, wholesale, and e-commerce channels. This role partners closely with the CFO and serves as the operational backbone of the finance function, ensuring timely financial data, reconciliations, and compliance.

• Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow, ensuring accuracy and completeness and for CFO review.
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and key balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Perform month-over-month and year-over-year variance analysis and support actual vs. budget reporting.
• Maintain accurate general ledger entries in RLM, including payroll, bank activity, and accruals.
• Upload and reconcile monthly bank statements across all company accounts.

• Maintain and update the weekly cash flow forecast based on inputs and guidance from the CFO.
• Monitor variances to forecast and flag material changes or risks to the CFO.
• Support annual P&L and Balance Sheet projections through data preparation and monthly actualization.

• Prepare and submit quarterly and annual NYC Commercial Rent Tax returns.
• Compile schedules and supporting documentation for annual tax filings.
• Ensure payroll is accurately recorded bi-weekly and prepare required reporting for the Defined Benefit Plan.

• Reconcile retail, e-commerce, and wholesale sales to bank settlements.
• Review AR aging reports weekly and coordinate with shipping and sales teams regarding accounts on hold.
• Monitor factored invoices and ensure shipments are fully approved prior to invoicing.
• Prepare weekly wholesale shipping reports comparing actuals vs. projections.
• Track unshipped wholesale orders post-season and reconcile invoiced vs. booked amounts.

• Oversee invoice coding accuracy and proper GL and season allocation.
• Coordinate payment timing in alignment with cash flow guidance from the CFO.
• Review AP aging and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with AR/AP staff.

• Prepare weekly inventory reports across Retail, E-commerce, and ATS channels.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in identifying overstock or risk areas.
• Support post-season inventory analysis, including sell-through and leftover inventory reviews.

• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail, wholesale, or consumer brands
• Strong close management and reconciliation experience
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (RLM preferred)
• Solid understanding of sales tax, payroll accounting, and inventory accounting
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-channel environment
