A global insurance-focused organization is seeking a Tax Provision Manager to support consolidated tax accounting and financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing tax provisions and disclosures under both U.S. GAAP and IFRS, with direct exposure to international operations.
This position is ideal for a tax professional with strong technical accounting expertise who has experience operating in a regulated insurance or reinsurance environment and is comfortable partnering with global teams and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review consolidated quarterly, annual, and periodic tax reporting schedules and disclosures under U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
- Monitor tax law developments across relevant jurisdictions and assess impacts to financial reporting.
- Review tax provisions prepared by internal teams or external advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with regional teams regarding local tax filings and reporting requirements.
- Partner with global headquarters and affiliated entities on tax reporting and compliance matters.
- Identify, monitor, and analyze uncertain tax positions.
- Maintain tax accounting policies, controls documentation, and process narratives.
- Support internal and external audit requests related to tax accounting and controls.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of tax processes within a SOX-compliant environment.
- 4–6 years of experience in tax accounting and reporting within insurance or reinsurance organizations.
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 and IFRS tax accounting standards.
- Hands‑on experience preparing and reviewing tax provisions.
- Experience operating within a SOX 404 control environment.
- Advanced Excel proficiency with the ability to work through complex schedules and reconciliations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working with global stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Accounting certification (CPA, CA, CMA) preferred.
