Job
A well-established and prominent Midtown Manhattan real estate firm is seeking an experienced Collections Coordinator to join its finance team. This role is responsible for overseeing the full collections cycle and partnering closely with attorneys and senior leadership to ensure timely cash flow and minimal bad debt.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the end-to-end collections process to ensure prompt and effective recovery of outstanding receivables
- Develop, implement, and enforce collection strategies to reduce delinquency and improve overall cash flow
- Proactively communicate with clients via phone and email to resolve overdue balances and address billing inquiries
- Serve as a point of contact for client questions and concerns related to billing and collections
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Prepare and distribute accounts receivable reports for responsible attorneys and management, as needed
- Attend monthly accounts receivable meetings with billing attorneys
- Provide consistent daily and weekly status updates to the Director of Client Accounts, CFO, and COO
- Assist with daily bank deposits, check scanning, and accurate recording of cash receipts in the accounting system
- Support additional accounting and collections-related projects as assigned by the Director of Client Accounts, CFO, and COO
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of five (5) years of collections experience, preferably within a law firm or real estate environment
- Proficiency with SurePoint, LMS+, or comparable legal/accounting software required
- Intermediate Excel skills required
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong ability to prioritize, multitask, and perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Meticulous attention to detail with consistent follow-up
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and professional approach
