The Junior Accountant is a crucial part of our overall operations and finance team. You will be responsible for verifying that monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements are correct and in accordance with GAAP. In this role you will also work with the rest of our accounting staff to verify all daily transactions are processed and allocated directly while working with the Controller on due dates and special projects.

- Perform the monthly close and compile/track monthly journal.
- Process and track allocations, determine if errors have been incorrectly posted, and course correct procedure to rectify the issue and prohibit it from happening in the future.
- Present accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Work with Banking Specialist to reconcile monthly bank accounts
- Track Balance Sheet activity for accuracy, and maintain needed roll-forwards to provide proof of account details
- Review and verify monthly payments are processed and paid within their designated due date
- Ensure miscellaneous invoices are allocated to the correct accounting period and general ledger code
- Assist the Controller various duties including but not limited to, covenants, banking requirements, and the financial audit
- Perform special projects and line-item review
- Understand Produce Pro and the flow of information. If issues occur, determine the source, and develop procedures to correct
- Vigilant in checking for errors and issues in order to identify outliers and discrepancies.
- Review internal and external emails and respond quickly and professionally.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the distribution or wholesaler industries
- College degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong Communication skills and able to problem-solve effectively
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Problem solver and ability to identify problems proactively
- Spanish speaking (preferred, but not required)
- Creative individual, willing to learn
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite Products (Word, Excel, Power Point) a plus
- Experience with one of the leaders in the produce wholesaler/distributor industry

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000 - $70,000
