Job Overview – Management Company Assistant Controller
. Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000/year + bonus.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday (Hybrid).

Atlantic Group is hiring a Management Company Assistant Controller in New York, NY for our client, supporting full-cycle accounting within a private equity or hedge fund management company. This hybrid role oversees financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and allocations while managing the monthly close, audits, and tax support. Ideal candidates have management company accounting experience and proficiency with ERP or general ledger systems such as Net Suite or Intacct.

• Full-Cycle Accounting:
  Oversee all management company accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Financial Reporting:
  Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the management company and related entities.
• Cash & Budget Management:
  Manage cash balances, intercompany activity, budgets, forecasts, and variance reporting.
• AP, Audit & Tax Support:
  Oversee accounts payable, vendor payments, and expense allocations while coordinating audits and tax filings with external partners.
• Process & Improvements:
  Enhance workflows, controls, and systems while partnering with HR, Operations, Legal, IR, and Fund Accounting on firm-wide initiatives.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA strongly preferred).
• Experience:
  
  8-12 years of management company accounting experience within private equity or hedge funds, with exposure to tax, corporate reporting, and multi-entity structures.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  Advanced Excel proficiency with experience in ERP/GL systems such as Net Suite, Intacct, Quick Books Enterprise, or similar platforms.
• Industry Knowledge:
  Strong understanding of management company structures, intercompany transactions, corporate allocations, GAAP accounting, and compensation-related accounting.
• Skills & Attributes:
  Highly organized and analytical with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions-driven approach in fast-paced environments.
