Overview

Job Title: VP of Finance
The Vice President of Finance will report directly to the CEO, leading the finance team and overseeing financial modeling, accounting, budget oversight, value engineering and vendor management. This role demands significant eCommerce experience, particularly with DTC business models, and expertise in forecasting, financial analysis, and variance reporting. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy and supporting business growth for the brand.

• Lead and manage the finance team, including strategic finance, accounting, payroll, and benefits administration, with a focus on execution and hands-on involvement.
• Own cash flow management and forecasting, ensuring accuracy, alignment with business objectives, and the ability to conduct in-depth scenario planning.
• Develop, negotiate, and optimize business contracts, manage insurance and liability policies, and safeguard company assets.
• Control costs through strategic recommendations and hands-on execution, ensuring resources are utilized efficiently.
• Provide actionable financial analysis and insights to identify opportunities for increased profitability, cost control, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with the CEO on budgeting and planning, offering both strategic and tactical support, with a strong focus on FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis).
• Coordinate yearly budget and quarterly forecast updates with the CEO and COO, including detailed scenario analysis and recommendations.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Working Capital, with variance analysis against the budget, and offer actionable insights to address gaps or opportunities.
• Develop and maintain financial models and dashboards in Excel to track KPIs, automate reporting, and support strategic initiatives.
• Lead financial review meetings and support bimonthly board meetings with ad hoc analysis, ensuring a balance of high-level insights and detailed execution.
• Balance high-level strategic thinking with the ability to get in the weeds and execute independently, ensuring deliverables without reliance on a large team.
• Plus:
  Manage payroll and employee benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k), and other company-sponsored benefits, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and international regulations.

• 12+ years of experience in Finance and overseeing both FP&A and Accounting teams
• Execute on strategies related to consumer branding experience and package consumer goods, with DTC (direct-to-consumer) experience as a plus.
• Private Equity, Investment Banking, and/or consumer goods background to execute business strategies, identify growth opportunities, and optimize profitability.
• Proven experience in eCommerce and DTC business models strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in finance, business or economics
• Strong background in accounting, strategic finance, and retail forecasting.
• Experience in analyzing trends and providing financial performance insights to Chief-level executives.
• Ability to develop relationships with business leaders and provide decision support.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to prepare compelling presentations for the Executive team and Board of Directors.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Expert proficiency in Excel, Shopify, and BI tools
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up and creative environment, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.

Salary: $225,000-$250,000 + bonus
