Investment Analyst

My client is a ~$600MM NYC-based macro hedge fund with an active long/short equity book, looking to hire a junior Investment Analyst to join a fast-paced, trading-oriented investment team. This is a demanding role that requires long hours, high intensity, and a genuine passion for markets.

The team is less focused on pedigree and more focused on finding someone who can hit the ground running, is highly attuned to daily market movements, and thrives in an environment where ideas are generated in real time based on both fundamentals and price action.

• Generate equity investment ideas based on fundamental analysis and market movements
• Monitor daily stock price action, news flow, earnings, macro events, and catalysts
• Conduct deep-dive research on companies, sectors, and themes
• Support active trading decisions through analysis and idea generation
• Assist with trade preparation, monitoring, and post-trade review
• Stay continuously plugged into market developments and equity-specific news

• 2–6 years of Buyside experience
• A multi-strategy hedge fund or pod-based platform (strongly preferred), or
• Investment banking / private equity with heavy market exposure
• Strong understanding of equity markets, trading dynamics, and stock movements
• A generalist background is acceptable
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-feedback environment
• Thick skin, strong work ethic, and willingness to put in long hours
• Deep, authentic interest in markets
• This role is idea-driven; the analyst will not initially manage their own P&L or book
• Significant long-term growth potential for the right person
• Best suited for someone who wants to learn quickly in a real trading environment
