Private Capital Research Specialists support investment teams by conducting qualitative and quantitative research across private market opportunities. These roles often involve close collaboration with investment professionals, portfolio managers, due diligence teams, and external managers.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth research on private equity, venture capital, and private credit opportunities
- Analyze fund structures, investment strategies, and historical performance metrics
- Support manager due diligence, including review of offering materials, financial statements, and track records
- Build and maintain financial models, benchmarking analyses, and research databases
- Perform industry, sector, and thematic research relevant to private markets
- Assist with portfolio construction, diversification analysis, and exposure monitoring
- Track capital calls, distributions, and fund-level performance metrics
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within private capital markets
- Prepare investment memos, research reports, and presentation materials for senior stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field
- Strong understanding of private markets and alternative investment structures
- Experience or coursework in private equity, venture capital, private credit, or alternatives preferred
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with data tools or Python is a plus
- High attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
