A leading global real estate investment platform is someone to join its U.S. debt origination team as a Vice President. The role focuses on originating, underwriting, and structuring commercial real estate debt investments across the east coast.
The firm is an active investor across major U.S. metropolitan markets, providing debt capital across a range of property types including multifamily, industrial, office, and retail. The platform manages a large, diversified portfolio of commercial real estate debt investments across both core and transitional strategies, deployed on behalf of institutional and third-party capital.
Key Responsibilities- Source, review, and underwrite potential commercial real estate loan opportunities across core and transitional strategies
- Develop and maintain relationships with borrowers, brokers, and other intermediaries across the eastern region (NY to Miami)
- Structure transactions to appropriately assess and mitigate risk
- Prepare and present initial deal summaries for internal review forums
- Draft detailed investment memoranda for internal approval processes
- Coordinate with borrowers, brokers, internal stakeholders, and legal counsel to execute and close transactions
- Travel as needed for business development, client meetings, and property/site inspections
- Bachelor’s degree required (real estate, finance, or a related discipline preferred)
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in real estate lending, originations, underwriting, portfolio management, or credit risk at an institutional lender, investment manager, or advisory firm
- Demonstrated experience originating loans secured by multifamily, industrial, office, and retail assets
- Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities; proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Argus
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and well organized
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
