Role DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant for a full-time, on‑site position in New York, NY. This role involves overseeing financial reporting, preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The Senior Corporate Accountant will also assist in budgeting, forecasting, and internal audits while supporting the finance team with strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities
- Prepare and post journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and complete account reconciliations
- Prepare financial statements in compliance with US GAAP
- Maintain accurate supporting schedules and documentation
- Prepare consolidated profit & loss statements and balance sheets
- Produce financial reports, variance analyses, and schedules for CFO review
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning through analysis and reporting
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data
- Own audit preparation, including compiling schedules and documentation requested by auditors
- Ensure compliance with statutory financial reporting and regulatory requirements
- Maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to support audit readiness
- Prepare and support federal, state, and local tax filings and documentation
- Compile tax schedules and reconciliations for external tax advisors
- Track tax compliance deadlines and requirements
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare financial data and reports required by banks or lenders (execution only)
- Monitor cash activity and ensure accurate recording
- Work with internal teams to obtain timely and accurate financial information
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reporting quality
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience owning close processes and preparing financial statements
- Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidated reporting
- Audit and tax support experience
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with senior leadership
