Director, Credit Analyst
Apply to join Standard Chartered as a Director, Credit Analyst. This senior role focuses on credit initiation of new clients and periodic risk assessment of existing Global Corporate clients in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities- Draft credit analysis through Business Credit Applications (BCAs) in line with bank‑approved policies and processes.
- Assess overall exposure, limits rationale, and economic loss for the Client/Group, determining business and risk approving authorities.
- Analyze the Client’s/Group’s business dynamics, industry, competitive positioning, and management strength, experience, and governance.
- Evaluate funding strategy, financial policy, treasury activities (hedging, cash management), and liquidity.
- Prepare financial spreads and internal scorecard to assign internal rating grades.
- Conduct leveraged lending assessment and stress‑case projections to evaluate repayment capacity over 7 years and enterprise valuation analysis (EVA) for high‑risk clients.
- Support mandatory checklists including Climate Risk Assessment, Environment & Social Risk Assessment, and Reputational Risk assessment.
- Complete fraud risk assessment and perform FX limit review and substantiation in line with market appropriateness.
- Lead annual credit reviews, re‑assess key risks, and update internal credit grades to ensure zero review overdues.
- Monitor covenants, risk triggers, rating agency actions, and perform credit stress testing as required.
- Ensure compliance with all internal and regulatory credit policies and support audits and regulatory exams.
- Financial statement analysis and corporate credit risk management.
- Financial forecasting and modelling.
- Industry knowledge and relationship management.
- Strong analytical ability focused on credit risk assessment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across cultures.
- Organized, multi‑tasking capability and balanced competing demands.
- Collaboration and ability to engage with Relationship Managers, clients, and stakeholders.
- Graduate or graduate‑calibre with sound knowledge of accounting and financial principles.
- MBA or CFA qualifications advantageous but not required.
- Analytical strength to spot emerging risks and industry trends.
- Gravitas to engage constructively with managers and clients.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to get results in partnership with stakeholders.

- Base pay range: $170,000 – $210,000 USD.
