Risk Manager/Analyst, Financial Consultant
Conning is a leading global investment management firm with a long history of serving the insurance industry. We develop solutions by leveraging Conning’s risk management tools and utilizing a highly disciplined investment process that relies on fundamental analysis.
Responsibilities- Analyzes data to assist LDI team in designing and structuring investment solutions and strategies (growth and hedging portfolios) for clients.
- Develops derivatives hedging solutions for institutional solutions clients.
- Assist LDI team with Asset‑Liability Models to develop real‑life hedging strategies.
- Assists LDI team in providing quarterly client data and performance results reports, to support business growth and client onboarding.
- Develops full stack software solutions related to the above.
- May assist with client retention.
- Build LDI strategies that help pension plans lock‑in funding improvements and reduce investment risk.
- Assist in creating material to help clients better understand investment strategies.
- Conduct analysis on derivatives‑based solutions in a cost‑effective manner.
- Gain knowledge in Conning’s investment, risk and capital management capabilities.
- Maintain and develop Conning's Conning
360 Institutional Solutions Portal web application. - Maintain and develop automated data pipelines for Conning's corporate defined benefit pension LDI tracker.
- Errors in judgment can directly lead to lost clients, revenue and reputation.
- No direct or indirect reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science required.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Full‑stack software development capabilities and particularly strong as it relates to the front‑end of the stack.
- Able to understand clients’ goals.
- Experience in giving presentations is helpful.
- Self‑motivated and can work in a specialized group within an asset‑management organization that is committed to support the effort in order to make it successful.
- Strong communication skills: ability to translate investment jargon into layman’s terms.
- Must have the ability to work as part of a team.
- Preferred qualifications:
STEM Bachelor’s degree.
