Position Details
As part of the Bronx Community College Business Office’s Accounting Office, the Finance coordinator will play a key role in supporting the accounting operations for Tuition and Fees, ACE, NTL, and Foundation. The Finance coordinator reports to the Bronx Community College Controller and Director for related entities.
Responsibilities- Maintains detailed financial data and assists in the preparation of reports
- Prepare and upload files into system of records and networks for various Business Units
- Maintains records/spreadsheets pertaining to Tax Levy and Non-Tax Levy accounts
- Analyze and monitor financial transactions and general ledger activity ensuring accuracy and reconcile discrepancies, under the direction of senior staff
- Gather and prepare support for transactions
- Record and submit transactions for review/approval
- Prepare midyear and year-end reports and respond to reporting request from the City University of New York (CUNY) Central Office and other stakeholders as assigned
- Reviews, prepare and analyzes accounting reports for accuracy and completeness
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and upload documentation and activities to the University Financial System
- Investigate variances in transactions and work alongside the Bursar’s office or other stakeholders to support resolution
- Performs duties under the supervision of higher-level administrative staff and in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Document and maintain business processes related to accounting operations
- Recommend enhancements to processes and identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and data integrity for consideration by management

QualificationsBachelor's Degree required

- Prepares, reconciles and distributes expenditure and related accounting reports
- Creates and maintains various spreadsheets related to financial analysis
- Processes and tracks transactional entries
- Provides support in the administration of various business operations
- Coordinates with various departments on accounting matters
- Monitors systems and operations to assure a smooth workflow
- Performs related duties as assigned
