Investment Valuation Associates support investment teams and operations by providing accurate, timely valuations of portfolio holdings across multiple asset classes. The role combines financial analysis, accounting, and reporting skills to ensure fair value measurements, regulatory compliance, and transparent reporting for investors and senior management.
These roles often involve close collaboration with fund accounting, portfolio management, investment operations, and external auditors or service providers.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform valuations of public and private securities, alternative assets, and fund-level investments according to fund policies and industry standards
Analyze financial statements, transaction data, and market information to determine fair value
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual NAV calculations and related schedules
Build and maintain valuation models, dashboards, and analytical tools
Conduct scenario analyses, stress tests, and sensitivity reviews on portfolio assets
Assist with investor reporting, fund audits, and regulatory compliance requirements
Identify anomalies, trends, or potential valuation issues and elevate as appropriate
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely fund reporting
Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Strong understanding of investment valuation methodologies, fund accounting, and alternative assets
Experience or coursework in private equity, private credit, hedge funds, or investment operations
Advanced Excel and analytical skills; familiarity with SQL, Python, or VBA is a plus
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Strong interest in investment valuation, portfolio metrics, and fund reporting
