Position Overview

Growing and exciting Real Estate Investment/Development firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Controller / Bookkeeper to manage accounting operations and support office administration. This in-person role will work closely with leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and smooth day-to-day operations. The position requires a hands-on professional who can balance technical accounting responsibilities with administrative support. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts as part of monthly close and P&L reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Process and disburse payments across all entities, ensuring compliance with budgets and loan agreements.
  • Compile and submit construction loan draw packages, including invoices, lien waivers, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare quarterly lender compliance reports and assist with annual budgeting and forecasting.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and ensure timely year-end financial preparation for tax filings.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth office operations, including document management and special projects.
Required Experience/Skills
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and GAAP principles.
  • Proficiency with Quick Books and/or Yardi (or similar real estate accounting software).
  • Demonstrated experience with monthly close, lender reporting, and construction loan draws.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Preferred Experience /Skills
  • Experience in real estate development, construction, or property management accounting.
  • Familiarity with compliance reporting and financial audits.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle both high-level and routine tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Direct experience with construction loan draws and lender reporting strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
