Director, Strategic Finance - CX and Product Ops
Rippling is scaling at hyperspeed, and we're hiring a Director to own the financial strategy for our Customer Experience (CX) and Product Operations (Prod Ops) organizations. The role determines retention, expansion, and long‑term company value, making it a crucial finance partnership at Rippling.
About the roleYou will serve as the senior finance leader and trusted advisor to the CX & Prod Ops leadership, shaping how these organizations set targets, allocate capital, and measure success. The position owns the financial operating model end‑to‑end, including cost‑to‑serve, unit economics, and analytical frameworks that inform investment decisions on new service models, pricing packages, tooling bets, and workforce strategy. It is a highly visible role with direct exposure to C‑Suite executives and involves leading a high‑performing finance team and collaborating with Revenue Operations, Data Science, and other Strategic Finance functions.

this is a hybrid position based in either our San Francisco or New York City office.
- Own the CX & Prod Ops relationship on behalf of Finance and serve as a trusted strategic partner to their leadership.
- Set ambitious, achievable targets for CX & Prod Ops in partnership with senior leadership, translating company priorities into measurable goals.
- Build depth of understanding around CX & Prod Ops efficiency metrics and create accurate forecasts that enable public‑company cadence and executive board decision making.
- Evaluate new strategic initiatives—such as service models, pricing packages, product launches, and AI capabilities—through rigorous financial modeling and scenario analysis.
- Lead recurring CX & Prod Ops Strategic Finance forums, including monthly business reviews, quarterly planning, and materials for executive and board audiences.
- Collaborate with Revenue Operations and Data & Analytics to develop dashboards that track performance against plan and surface actionable insights for senior leaders.
- Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing finance team, setting a high bar for analytical rigor, ownership, and impact while coaching future leaders.
- 10+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, or private equity, with significant time at a high‑growth technology company.
- Expert‑level financial modeling and analytical skills, with a proven track record of owning complex operating and headcount models.
- Deep understanding of SaaS customer economics—including NRR, GRR, churn drivers, expansion motions, and cost‑to‑serve.
- Direct experience supporting Implementation, Technical Account Management, Support, or Product Operations organizations is strongly preferred.
- Ability to synthesize large, complex datasets into clear insights and actionable recommendations for senior leaders.
- Proven ability to operate at a senior level with significant independence, managing multiple large work streams and driving outcomes through cross‑functional influence.
- Strong people‑leadership experience, building and developing high‑performing teams and raising the analytical bar across an organization.
- Excellent communication and executive presence, presenting credibly to C‑suite and board‑level audiences.
- Experience in a public company or public‑company‑ready environment is a plus.
- Experience with financial planning tools (e.g., Anaplan), Salesforce, and SQL is a plus.
