Alternative Investments Product Specialist - Mid-Atlantic & Northeast

Working alongside their designated team, the specialist will generate new business within Independent Broker Dealers in the Mid‑Atlantic and Northeast markets, support product and distribution teams with fund manager coverage and client engagement, and cultivate a strong client service culture. Candidates must have experience in the financial services industry, a deep understanding of technical investment products, strong attention to detail, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities
  • Initiate and execute new client relationships within Independent Broker Dealers in the Mid‑Atlantic and Northeast.
  • Develop subject‑matter expertise on all CAIS investment products—including Hedge Funds, Private Equity, ’40 Act Funds, Equity and Debt Syndicates, and Structured Solutions—to service existing client relationships and fulfill any requests for assistance or information.
  • Prepare presentations and materials for client meetings.
  • Coordinate and execute tailored product launch strategies.
  • Coordinate manager due diligence and selection processes, ensuring breadth and investment quality to provide best‑in‑class investment products to our clients.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of roadshows and conferences.
  • Assist in the creation of product marketing collateral.
  • Work alongside the sales team on client pitches, product positioning, and sales campaigns.
  • Build excellent working relationships across multiple lines of business and corporate functions in collaboration with product onboarding.
  • Participate in special projects and additional responsibilities as determined by capacity, skill, and interest.
Qualifications
  • 5‑10+ years of internal and/or external sales experience in the alternatives space.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or a related discipline required.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self‑starter who takes initiative and learns quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to continuous professional development and improvement of the team.
  • Excellent client service aptitude and attitude.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Salesforce.
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses required.
Benefits & Compensation

CAIS offers a market‑competitive salary, performance bonus, and exceptional benefits. For New York City locations, the base salary range for this role is $150,000 – $200,000, with actual compensation influenced by factors such as skill set, experience, and office location. Benefits include generously subsidized healthcare, 100% employer‑paid dental and vision insurance, an employer‑matched retirement plan, wellness programs, generous PTO and parental leave, and a flexible hybrid in‑office model requiring a minimum of three days in the office per week.
