Associate, Banker – Industry/Country Coverage with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York.

Structures, analyzes and executes transactions on behalf of companies in the natural resources sector. Reviews proprietary financial models, such as M&A, DCF, and LBO valuations in the natural resources sector.

Responsibilities

• Build and review financial models in Excel or related spreadsheet tools, including operating models, M&A and LBO valuations, incorporating corporate finance concepts, risk‑return dynamics, and GAAP/non-GAAP principles for companies.
• Manage and coordinate multiple work streams with senior bankers and product experts across the division.
• Execute M&A transactions involving deal origination, information memorandum preparation, strategic and financial partner approach strategies, valuation and combination analyses, transaction negotiation, fairness opinions and board presentations.
• Develop complex presentations and present to senior executives such as the CEO and CFO of clients on M&A, corporate strategy, and financing alternatives.
• Manage multiple live work streams, coordinate with clients, external counsels, co‑advisors and senior deal team members to ensure smooth execution of deals.

Up to 10% domestic and international travel required for client meetings and engagement. All travel expenses paid by the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.
• Prior experience must include at least two (2) years with: building and reviewing financial models; managing and coordinating multiple work streams; executing M&A transactions; developing complex presentations; coordinating with clients, external counsels, co‑advisors and senior deal team members.

Salary

Annual base salary: $175,000 – $225,000.
