Job Summary

This is not a functional leadership role, it is a business‑building role. As Regional Director, Tax & Accounting Services, you will own the operational activities, the growth trajectory, and the client outcomes for Earned’s Tax and Accounting practice across the western US region. You will set the regional strategy, win and deepen client relationships, lead the integration of acquired firms, and build the team and processes that enable Earned to scale.

You will operate with the mandate and the autonomy of a regional business owner. Your results will be measured in revenue growth, client retention, operational efficiency, and the quality of the talent and culture you build.

Compensation

Salary Range: $200,000 - $240,000

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Ownership & Growth
    • Own the regional operations for Tax and Accounting Services — including revenue targets, margin performance, and cost efficiency — and be accountable for delivering against them.
    • Drive organic growth by partnering with regional advisory and sales teams to convert prospects from Earned’s physician network and expand service utilization within the existing client base.
    • Develop and execute a regional growth strategy aligned with Earned’s national expansion plan, identifying market opportunities and building the pipeline to capture them.
    • Engage in due diligence, onboarding, and operational integration of acquired tax and accounting firms in the region, bringing teams, processes, and culture into the Earned model.
    • Serve as a senior relationship owner for key regional clients, deepening trust and cross‑service Earned’s full suite of services.
  • Tax & Accounting Operations
    • Provide strategic guidance on all tax‑related matters for clients — planning, entity structuring, risk management, and proactive tax planning.
    • Oversee all aspects of tax compliance, including preparation and filing of returns, reports, and required documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across the region.
    • Manage tax, accounting, and bookkeeping operations, embedding continuous improvement practices and holding the team to measurable quality standards.
    • Partner with the Product organization to leverage technology‑enabled solutions and establish best‑in‑class, scalable operations through Earned’s tax services product roadmap.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders — Wealth Management, Financial Planning, Transformation office and Client Services — to integrate tax considerations holistically across Earned’s service model.
    • Drive all aspects of delivery including but not limited to engagement letter, pricing, referrals, capacity planning and client escalations.
  • Team Leadership & Talent
    • Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing regional team of senior tax managers, accountants, and operations professionals, creating a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous development.
    • Attract, hire, and retain top‑tier talent as the region scales — you will be a key architect of the team that executes Earned’s western region growth.
    • Partner with national leadership on workforce planning, org design, and the talent strategy required to support M&A integration and organic growth.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA required.
  • Advanced degree (Master of Taxation, JD) strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in tax and accounting, with exposure to financial services, wealth management, or a high‑growth professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated run and growth ownership: you have managed a regional practice, a book of business, or a revenue‑generating team, and you can point to the growth you drove.
  • A proven track record in business development: building client relationships, winning new engagements, and expanding scope with existing clients.
  • Experience leading M&A integrations or operational transitions — you know how to absorb acquired teams and harmonize processes without losing momentum or quality.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams, set high expectations, and deliver results through others in a fast‑scaling environment.
  • Entrepreneurial operating style: you make decisions…
