The TAS team supports private equity sponsors, lenders and corporates with financial, tax and operational diligence across Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and corporate actions. Portage Point’s entrepreneurial model empowers TAS team members to lead early and often, delivering value across the deal continuum with speed and precision.
- Work directly with senior personnel at Portage Point and our clients to develop comprehensive solutions to complex transactional challenges
- Lead engagements developing relationships through best-in-class execution
- Formulate, oversee and lead multiple engagements while guiding and coaching junior team members
- Execute buy-side and sell-side diligence including but not limited to historical and projected financial and operating trends analysis, quality of earnings analysis, working capital and net debt consideration analysis, cash flow analysis, potential liabilities and risk analysis
- Draft clear and compelling reports outlining key takeaways including but not limited to normalized earnings, budget achievability, indebtedness and post-transaction considerations
- Create and manipulate financial models
- Review transaction agreements, customer and vendor contracts
- Curate a personal network that will result in a consistent book of business and increased practice line revenues
- Collaborating closely with performance improvement, restructuring and investment banking colleagues
- Lead internal trainings and best practice sharing
- Lead and support business development and client relationship efforts
- Support talent acquisition and firm-building initiatives
- Contribute to a high-performing, inclusive and values-driven culture
- Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate program
- Located in or willing to relocate to Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York or Philadelphia
- Invested in a team-based culture, motivated to collaborate in office four days per week and willing to work at client sites as needed
- Certified Public Accountant required
- 10+ years of financial due diligence experience or a combination of audit and financial due diligence experience within a Big Four accounting firm
- Deep understanding of US GAAP principles
- Familiarity with Tableau and Alteryx preferred
- Exceptional engagement leadership and client management skills including extensive experience in project management including planning, organizing, coordinating and managing team members and clients
- Readiness to have a direct impact on revenue growth
- Proficiency in financial modeling including ability to prepare three statement models, dynamic KPI packages and complex ad hoc analysis
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentation and reporting skills
- Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teams
- High attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindset
- Track record of success in high-pressure, client-facing environments
$400,000 - $625,000 a year.
In accordance with pay transparency laws in the City of New York and the State of California, Portage Point provides a good-faith cash compensation range for this position. This range represents the cash compensation (base plus bonus) that the firm reasonably expects to pay upon hire, based on good-faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting. The final compensation within this range will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, education, training, experience and location.
In addition to cash compensation, Portage Point may offer comprehensive benefits and equity participation, which are not reflected in the pay range above.
