AVP Credit Underwriter - CRE

Overview

A well-established regional bank with a strong presence in the Northeast is seeking to add an AVP Credit Underwriter to its Commercial Real Estate team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growth-oriented institution with a long-standing reputation in real estate lending. The role offers meaningful exposure to a diverse CRE loan portfolio and the ability to work closely with senior leadership on new originations and existing deals.

• Underwrite new and existing CRE loans 20MM+.
• Perform detailed credit analysis including property cash-flow modeling and guarantee analysis.
• Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda, including risk assessment, strengths/weaknesses, and structure recommendations.
• Evaluate sponsor strength through review of liquidity, net worth, contingent liabilities, and track record.
• Assess collateral quality and secondary sources of repayment, including valuation and liquidation analysis.

• 3+ years of experience in commercial real estate credit analysis or underwriting in a banking setting.
• Familiarity with credit policy, risk rating methodologies, and loan approval processes.
• Strong understanding of CRE fundamentals, including cash flow analysis, DSCR, LTV, and loan structuring.
