SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Indirect Tax and Compliance Accountant is responsible for the Company's sales and use tax, alcohol license, tangible tax, and other compliance and filings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for oversight/completion of all indirect taxes to include beer and alcohol taxes.
• Liaison with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues
• Responsible for responding to inquiries from regulatory authorities and coordinatingappropriate responses.
• Ensuretimelycompliance with all annual and interim reporting requirements.
• Prepare and review journal entries and perform account reconciliations,identifyaccount variances, and determine corrective courses of action.
• Research rules and regulations and stay current with changes in tax/compliance law.
• Applyand renew business licenses, sales tax licenses, and various other excise tax licenses for Florida locations.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• Three to five years of experience as a tax and compliance accountant.
• Proven and successful experience working at all levels of tax problem analysis, tax preparation, and resolution.
• Requires general accounting work experience and knowledge of GAAP.
• SAP experience a plus.
• Strong Excel skills are required.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
