Location: New York
Eden II Programs is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance Department. This position will support the daily financial operations of the organization, including banking activities, account reconciliations, investment tracking, wire transfers, and financial reporting support. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks in a professional and confidential manner.
- Assist with daily banking activities and bank reconciliations
- Maintain and reconcile bank ledgers and financial account records
- Process and monitor account requisitions and financial transactions
- Prepare and enter wire transfers accurately and timely
- Maintain records related to investments and financial accounts
- Assist with general ledger entries and account reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
- Monitor cash flow activity and report discrepancies
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Review invoices and payment requests for accuracy and approvals
- Maintain organized financial files and records
- Assist with preparing financial reports, spreadsheets, and audit schedules
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial tracking, reconciliations, and reporting
- Support annual audits and compliance reviews
- Coordinate with banks and vendors regarding financial transactions
- Assist with budget tracking and expense monitoring
- Collaborate with finance team members on special projects and process improvements
- Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures
- All additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related financial field required
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
- Proficiency in financial software systems.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of FEZ Software and/or Medicaid Billing
- Familiarity with banking procedures, bank ledgers, and financial reconciliations
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Willingness to learn and grow within a nonprofit finance environment
$55,000 – $65,000 per year
