Title: Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program Lead Consultant
Pay Rate: $110-$150/hour, depending on experience
Location: New York, NY (Fully Onsite)
Duration: 18-Month Consulting Engagement with potential for extension
Position OverviewA leading global financial services organization is seeking an experienced Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program Lead Consultant to support the implementation and operationalization of a broader enterprise risk management initiative. The organization has established foundational risk management practices, executive sponsorship, identified risk ownership structures, and a developing ERM framework. The next phase of the program requires a hands‑on leader who can help centralize risk management activities, establish governance processes, improve enterprise‑wide visibility, and drive implementation across multiple business functions.
This is a highly visible role that will partner closely with Risk, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Technology, and business leadership stakeholders.
- Support the implementation and operationalization of an enterprise-wide ERM program
- Help transition risk management activities from decentralized business‑unit ownership into a more centralized governance model
- Facilitate enterprise risk assessments and risk identification activities
- Develop and enhance risk governance processes, reporting structures, and risk management procedures
- Assist with the development and refinement of risk taxonomies, risk inventories, and risk ownership frameworks
- Partner with business leaders to identify, assess, monitor, and report on key enterprise risks
- Support the development and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
- Assist with Risk & Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA) activities
- Help establish consistent risk reporting and executive‑level risk visibility across the organization
- Support Business Continuity Management (BCM) and operational resilience initiatives as needed
- Drive stakeholder engagement and change management efforts to promote adoption of ERM processes
- Collaborate with Technology, Audit, Compliance, and Operations teams to support future ERM technology initiatives
- 10+ years of experience within Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk, Risk Governance, Compliance, Internal Audit, or related risk disciplines
- Demonstrated experience implementing or operationalizing ERM programs within complex organizations
- Strong understanding of risk governance, risk assessments, KRIs, RCSAs, and enterprise risk reporting
- Experience working within financial services, asset management, banking, insurance, capital markets, or similarly regulated environments preferred
- Experience supporting risk framework implementation and organizational change initiatives
- Strong executive presence and ability to engage with senior leadership stakeholders
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution

The ideal candidate is a builder and implementer who has successfully helped organizations grow and operationalize enterprise risk management programs. This individual should be comfortable rolling up their sleeves, working across multiple stakeholder groups, driving execution, and helping create sustainable risk management processes rather than serving solely in an oversight or advisory capacity.
