Loan Closer - Bank Debt Operations

Apollo Global Management is a large alternative asset management firm that invests and manages capital on behalf of institutional and individual investors.

Apollo is seeking an experienced Loan Closer to join its Bank Debt Operations team on a contract basis with the potential to convert to a full‑time employee. This role supports a high‑volume, fast‑paced trading environment focused primarily on syndicated bank loans, with some exposure to private credit transactions.

The successful candidate will become part of a global operations team consisting of 5 professionals in London and 4 in India, supporting one of the industry's most active loan trading platforms.

This team supports one of the most active allocated loan trading businesses in the market. The environment is fast‑paced, collaborative, and highly transaction‑oriented, requiring professionals who can think proactively, manage multiple priorities, and drive settlements to completion.

• 200-400 active loan tickets.
• More than 100 allocations across transactions.
• Significant settlement volume requiring continuous coordination and follow‑up.

• Schedule:
  
  8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible to work until 6 PM if needed). 3 days on‑site, 2 days remote (Tuesday‑Thursday in office, Monday & Friday remote).
• Manage the end‑to‑end closing process for syndicated loan transactions, with some involvement in private loan settlements.
• Process and settle LSTA/LST loan trades across a high‑volume portfolio.
• Coordinate closely with traders, counter parties, custodians, agents, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely settlement.
• Handle trade allocations, settlement documentation, and transaction follow‑up activities.
• Monitor and resolve delayed settlements and settlement exceptions.
• Utilize Clear Par extensively throughout the trade settlement lifecycle.
• Support post‑settlement actions and ongoing trade‑related follow‑up activities.
• Maintain accurate books and records within internal operational systems.
• Liaise with counter parties and internal teams to ensure efficient movement of cash and liquidity.
• Assist with managing a large portfolio of transactions, including high allocation and settlement volumes.

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field required.
• 5+ years of consistent loan closing experience coming from a financial services firm. Hedge Fund, Investment Management, or similar fund experience preferred.
• Experience with syndicated loan settlements and LSTA Market practices required.
• Experience managing high transaction volumes and complex allocations required.
• Experience with Clear Par required.
