Job Description

Consumer Products Manufacturer based in Nassau/Queens Border is seeking a Hybrid Senior Payroll Analyst to join their growing team.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of processing payroll for a large organization. This person plays a pivotal role within the Payroll team of this dynamic and expanding organization. This position entails precise calculation of net earnings, withholding, and deductions. Additionally, it involves overseeing daily payroll operations, including accurate multi-state payroll calculations and ensuring compliance with state and federal wage, hour, and tax regulations.

The role also includes supporting the reconciliation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings.

  • Hybrid:
    Mon, Thurs and Fri (Remote), Tues and Wed (office)
  • 8am-5pm

  • Workday software is a plus

The position is paying up to $110K + Bonus and the company is looking to hire ASAP.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate biweekly payroll processing; capable of stepping in for weekly processing as needed.
  • Assist in reconciling and posting payroll transactions to the general ledger, conducting associated accounting reconciliations.
  • Audit payroll records, including tax information, direct deposit details, and wage attachments for accuracy.
  • Process deductions and reconcile company store transactions.
  • Conduct weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reconciliations.
  • Support tax reconciliations and reporting efforts.
  • Address team member inquiries related to payroll matters.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll processing systems, wage, and tax laws.
  • Generate standard and ad-hoc reports for finance and other departments.
  • Review timekeeping records to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Execute audit reports to verify data accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure payroll processes align with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end payroll processes.
  • Manage the Payroll Fax inbox.
  • Uphold financial security by adhering to internal controls.
Background & Experience
  • Preferably hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or possess equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll and tax administration.
  • Experience with HRIS systems is advantageous, with preference for Workday experience.
  • Solid understanding of multi-state payroll operations, payroll tax laws, and best practices.
