Overview
ING’s Financial Markets division offers hedging, investment products, and financing solutions to clients of ING’s Wholesale Banking division. The Global Credit Trading (“GCT”) team spans the globe across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, providing liquidity in corporate bonds to ING Financial Markets (IFM) clients. ING is seeking a junior IG trader within the Financial Markets Americas division.
Role Responsibilities- Provide liquidity in IG bonds to ING Financial Markets (IFM) clients to build and promote the ING credit trading franchise.
- Identify and disseminate flow, color, and relative value trade ideas to credit sales, debt capital markets, syndicate, and IFM Clients.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships with institutional investors, dealers, and issuers to enhance liquidity and drive revenue opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, credit conditions, and economic data to identify trading opportunities and inform investment strategies.
- Collaborate with the research, analytics, and sales teams to support trade ideas and deliver high-quality service to clients.
- Contribute to the development of trading strategies, tools, and processes to optimize desk performance.
- Manage risk/inventory to ensure the ability to quote on client inquiry and absorb the resulting flow within the firm’s risk tolerance.
- Back up team members including ABS trader to ensure continuity of platform and services.
- At least 4+ years of experience on an institutional, fixed income, sales platform.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with preference for Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or a closely related quantitative field.
- Securities licenses including Series7 &63.
- Proven history of successful management of a credit trading book.
- Self‑starter, result‑oriented mentality and eye for high quality and integrity standards.
- Genuine team player who gets things done and helps others succeed.
- Ability to take ownership of issues, create transparency, and build trusted relationships to win support and create favorable outcomes for both clients and ING.
Salary Range: $160,000 – $215,000. This role is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program.
