Summer Analyst ProgramEach year, RBC invites high‑performing rising seniors to join our Municipal Finance platform for a 10‑week U.S. Summer Analyst Program. The program offers a realistic view of municipal finance, allowing analysts to work on a variety of transactions and development initiatives and gain experience in financial problem solving, negotiation, execution, and marketing.
What will you do?The Municipal Finance Summer Analyst provides analytical, research, and transactional support to investment bankers in all departmental activities related to the structuring and issuance of municipal bonds and related advisory services.
Responsibilities- Preparing cash flow projections and related financial analyses for potential and actual capital markets transactions.
- Gathering, organizing, and analyzing information necessary to prepare proposals, client presentations, offering statements, and marketing materials.
- Assisting in the preparation of proposals for prospective clients, describing financing alternatives in originating, structuring, and marketing an issue, and demonstrating underwriting capabilities.
- Enhancing the department’s knowledge of municipal capital markets by collecting, organizing, and maintaining marketing materials and information resources.
- Coordinating internal and external activities related to pricing and settlement of debt transactions.
- Performing other tasks and job‑related duties as assigned.
- Undergraduate students entering their final year at an accredited four‑year college or university, graduating in Spring 2028 or December 2027.
- Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong knowledge of finance and accounting preferred.
- Familiarity with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong competency in collaboration, relationship building, communication, integrity, and an inclusive mindset.
- Well‑rounded extracurricular interests beyond academics.
- Understanding of the economic, political, and industry‑specific forces influencing public‑sector financing.
- Support from experienced mentors.

Good‑faith expected salary range: $100,000 (dependent on experience, skills, registration status, market conditions, and business needs).
