Position OverviewThe Energy & Infrastructure (E&I) strategy invests holistically across the infrastructure landscape—including real asset, services, and technology opportunities spanning power, midstream, energy transition, digital, transportation, utilities, and products. The team’s mandate is to deliver compelling, risk‑adjusted returns with strong downside protection and significant upside potential.
This hire will be a deal captain leading sourcing, execution, and portfolio management across a variety of transaction types. As a senior member of the team, the director will drive E&I’s future growth and investment strategy.
Responsibilities- Lead value‑add infrastructure equity transactions, focusing on directs, co‑investments, and fund and platform opportunities.
- Lead all aspects of deal execution, including sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, structuring, management of the investment committee process, legal documentation, and asset management.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborate with external partners and LMI’s legal, asset allocation, risk, and accounting & operations teams to develop customized investment opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Engage with external counter parties and market participants to enhance E&I’s presence in the space.
- Drive robust relative value discussions across the organization to generate optimal risk‑adjusted returns for the overall portfolio.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and work cross‑functionally to add value across the organization.
- Pursue the development of technology, data, and analytics needed to support the role.
- Develop and train junior team members, most of whom are based in Boston.
- 10+ years of experience in private equity infrastructure investments, including sourcing, structuring, execution, and management of complex transactions.
- Deep experience underwriting investments with an ability to identify risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
- Proven investment track record with experience leading and overseeing a range of investments across sectors.
- Experience managing deal teams and external constituents.
- Extensive network of investors, management teams, and advisors across the infrastructure landscape.
- Experience working from initial business plan review through execution.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams and business units.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- High‑performing team player with willingness to be flexible and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Expectation that the director will be present in the office three days a week and be willing and able to travel as required if not Boston‑based.
