Job OverviewThe Business Data, Information Management Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments and contributes to directional strategy, recognized as a technical authority for an area within the business. Counter party Credit Risk Data Analytics Team analyses securities, trade volumes and exposure trends to identify and address data quality issues that impact exposure calculations. Working closely with partners in Markets, Client, Credit Risk Management and Technology, the team improves the integrity of the factors, processes and systems that affect data quality for over‑the‑counter traded derivatives (OTC) and securities finance transactions (SFT).
The role performs risk data quality analysis and addresses potential risk process and exposure calculation improvements across multiple businesses:
Risk Management, IT, Finance, Front Office, etc., specializing in OTC and SFT products.
- Manage database administration, data analysis, maintenance, data quality and database architecture/design engineering tasks.
- Own one or more processes, reports, procedures or products and act as an analytical or procedural expert on cross‑function process or project deliverables.
- Perform daily analysis on key factors and business data focused on securities, transaction products, attributes, liquidity and concentration exposure calculation.
- Proactively identify potential business issues for different calculation metrics (Liquidity and Readily Marketable, Pre‑settlement, Net Stressed, ECTC).
- Assist in identifying critical data elements for key risk processes in partnership with consumers.
- Establish new risk data quality processes based on client requirements, present findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Promote more effective use of existing tools and processes and eliminate ineffective ones.
- Supervise day‑to‑day work of junior level employees with limited direct supervision.
- Provide training and guidance to other team members.
- 10+ years of experience.
- Experience in a quantitative field.
- Excellent analytical and practical problem solving abilities.
- Solid understanding of the consumer lending market, customer life cycle, and P&L.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Business, Risk data, including Risk data elements and systems across derivatives and securities financing based transactions and other trading products.
- Experience in segmentation, modeling, and optimization.
- Know‑how on analytic tools such as SAS E‑miner, Knowledge Seeker, SPSS, etc., and methodologies such as regression, CHAID, simulation.
- Experience in big data and machine learning (R, Python, etc.).
- Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred.
