Role OverviewStartup M&A Analysts support investment, strategy, and corporate development teams by analyzing acquisition opportunities, exit scenarios, and strategic transactions involving early- and growth-stage companies
. The role emphasizes financial analysis, deal execution support, and market research across the startup ecosystem.
Analysts work closely with partners, founders, legal advisors, and internal stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle—from initial screening through closing and post-deal analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate potential acquisition and merger opportunities involving startups and emerging companies
- Build financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction scenarios
- Support due diligence efforts, including financial, operational, and strategic review
- Conduct market, competitive, and synergy analysis for proposed transactions
- Assist with pitch materials, investment committee decks, and board presentations
- Track deal pipelines, transaction status, and post-merger performance metrics
- Support negotiations by preparing data rooms, summaries, and analytical insights
- Monitor M&A activity, exit trends, and valuation benchmarks within the startup ecosystem
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, or a related analytical field
- Strong interest in mergers & acquisitions, startups, and corporate strategy
- Experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, consulting, venture capital, or corporate development is helpful
- Solid financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Detail-oriented, execution-focused, and comfortable working in fast-paced deal environments
- Curious, collaborative, and interested in startup exits and strategic transactions
