Financial Analyst, Risk Manager/Analyst
Ares Management Corporation is seeking an Associate for the Alternative Credit Group in either Atlanta or New York City.
Position OverviewThis role involves the full investment lifecycle from sourcing and underwriting to portfolio management within our Alt Credit platform.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Modeling & Analysis – Analyze and underwrite potential investments, reviewing historical financials and building cash flow projection models.
- Due Diligence – Lead deal‑team activities, collect and analyze due‑diligence materials, and coordinate with third‑party providers.
- Research – Conduct company‑specific and industry research for each opportunity.
- Investment Recommendation – Prepare Investment Committee memos and ensure quality, completeness, and accuracy of supporting analysis.
- Portfolio Management – Support the asset‑management team in monitoring investments and contribute to process‑improvement projects.
- Superior academic record from a top‑tier undergraduate program.
- 3+ years of finance experience with exposure to asset finance, corporate credit, and structured products.
- Preferred: buyside or FIG/securitization/structured credit investment‑banking experience.
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Self‑motivated, able to thrive in a fast‑moving, dynamic environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate investment risk and value.
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, creative problem‑solving, and adaptability.
Base salary range: $ – $ plus discretionary performance bonus.
