OPE manages $25.6 billion in assets under management and invests approximately $3 billion per year in direct, control private equity investments through an evergreen fund structure.

As the private equity arm of OMERS — one of Canada's largest pension plans with $145.2 billion in net assets — OPE partners with management teams of industry-leading businesses across North America and Europe with a long-term value creation mandate.

The investment team draws from backgrounds in private equity, investment banking, and consulting, and OPE prides itself on a collaborative, team-based culture. The firm's portfolio spans multiple sectors, with offices in New York, Toronto, London, Singapore, and  this role, the Associate Director will lead the end-to-end investment process, from deal origination through active portfolio ownership.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading industry research, competitor assessments, financial statement analysis, and financial modeling for new investment opportunities
- Directing commercial and operational due diligence work streams on prospective transactions
- Preparing internal investment committee presentations
- Overseeing the work of Associates and participating in Associate recruitment
- Supporting leadership on strategic and operational projects
- Monitoring portfolio company performance, reviewing quarterly financials, and leading key value creation plan initiatives
- Working alongside portfolio management teams to research and execute tuck-in acquisitions
- Supporting capital structure management including debt refinancing, tax planning, and capital budgeting

The ideal candidate brings several years of direct private equity experience with a strong track record in deal execution and portfolio management. Investment banking or management consulting backgrounds are also valued. Candidates should demonstrate financial modeling proficiency, commercial acumen, and the ability to lead work streams independently while collaborating in a team environment.
