About the RoleWe are seeking a VP of Tax to lead and oversee the firm’s global tax function across its management company, investment funds, and affiliated SPVs. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will own the full lifecycle of tax compliance, reporting, and planning across a complex, multi-entity structure spanning both U.S. and international jurisdictions.
This is a highly visible role requiring close collaboration with external advisors and internal stakeholders across Accounting, Legal, Investor Relations, and Investments. The position also offers the opportunity to build and enhance tax processes, improve controls, and drive operational efficiency within a growing platform.
Key Responsibilities- Own and manage the firm’s global tax function, partnering closely with the Head of Finance on evolving tax strategy and requirements
- Oversee all U.S. and international tax compliance, including federal, state, local, and foreign filings across partnerships, corporations, funds, and SPVs
- Manage external tax advisors and fund administrators to ensure timely and accurate delivery of:
- K-1s and investor tax reporting packages
- Tax returns (Forms 1065, 1120, and applicable international filings)
- Estimated tax payments and related reporting
- FATCA/CRS and global information reporting requirements
- Review and prepare specialized filings and elections, including FBAR, PTE filings, commercial rent tax, and entity structuring documentation
- Oversee tax accruals and support financial statement preparation, including tax-related disclosures
- Lead tax structuring, planning, and modeling for new funds, investments, and complex structures (onshore and offshore)
- Contribute to transaction execution, including structuring considerations for credit products and investment vehicles
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the tax function, including process optimization, controls enhancement, and technology adoption
- Stay current on tax developments impacting private funds, credit strategies, and global investment structures; research and document technical positions as needed
- At least 7–10 years of progressive tax experience
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- Experience with private credit, loan structures, and/or closed‑end private funds with carried interest highly preferred
- Strong understanding of investment manager/GP tax considerations
