This Vice President opportunity sits within the Asset Finance team of a well-established global financial institution with over twenty years of active presence in transportation finance, offering end-to-end involvement across origination, structuring, credit approval, legal documentation, and portfolio management. The team focuses on financing solutions for airlines, aircraft lessors, rail, and container companies across the Americas — operating as part of a global business line with teams in Europe and Asia.
The role reports directly to the Asset Finance Managing Director and offers meaningful transaction ownership, direct client engagement, and the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, collaborative team with strong deal flow and long-standing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit credit applications for Asset Finance transactions under the Managing Director's supervision; respond to credit-related questions from local and head office credit committees
- Prepare and review financial models in conjunction with junior team members, ensuring accuracy and robustness of financial analysis and credit assessments
- Lead and engage in client discussions and business development activities; support the Managing Director in sourcing and evaluating new transactions with existing and prospective clients
- Review and structure term sheets in collaboration with the Managing Director; collaborate across bank business lines to identify ancillary product opportunities for clients
- Represent the bank in legal documentation negotiations; manage transaction closing processes with Middle Office, Agent Banks, and clients
- Manage multiple mandates simultaneously, delegating effectively to junior resources and reviewing work product to ensure quality and timeliness
- Oversee the preparation of annual internal credit reviews and ad-hoc portfolio reports; assist with monitoring of portfolio performance for audit and regulatory purposes
- Ensure delivery of high-quality credit proposals and successful execution of transactions from origination through closing
- Supervise and coach junior team members including Analysts and Associates; contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Travel as needed for client meetings and transaction execution
