Summary
This position requires an individual with a strong credit analysis background in Corporate & Investment Banking and credit risk review experience. The candidate will conduct independent credit reviews to ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures as well as regulatory guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to identify and communicate credit risk management weaknesses, and to effectively challenge internal and regulatory risk ratings where appropriate.
Responsibilities- Assess the sufficiency of credit risk monitoring programs, performance covenants, monitoring guidelines, and trigger events; ensure all credit extensions comply with lending policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Evaluate borrower financial performance by assessing financial statements and credit risk metrics, including income statement, cash flow statement, balance sheet, and capital structure analysis, and compare against base and stress‑scenario projections.
- Determine the accuracy of U.S. regulatory classifications and internal risk ratings.
- Verify the adequacy of ALLL procedures as required.
- Apply leverage lending guidelines, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements to identify deficiencies or areas of improvement in credit risk management processes, procedures, and policies.
- Perform risk assessments for assigned portfolio segments to document the credit risk review’s current opinion of the quality and direction of credit risk.
- Conduct continuous monitoring reviews to enhance early detection of credit risk and improve the credit risk assessment process.
- Maintain in‑depth knowledge of assigned portfolio segments.
- Identify review weaknesses and recommend actions to mitigate them.
- Maintain knowledge of all lending, credit rating, and problem loan monitoring policies and procedures.
- Carry out ad‑hoc and ancillary projects to support the overall credit risk review function.
- Bachelor’s degree plus a postgraduate business degree or CFA (a plus).
- Minimum six years of credit risk review experience with formal credit training (a plus).
- Proficiency in applying credit risk management standards, techniques, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of the U.S. regulatory environment and emerging risks.
- Ability to articulate verbal and written credit review opinions clearly and support them with evidence.
- Advanced technical skills.
- Capacity to manage competing project priorities and a diverse workload.
- Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic, and self‑motivation.
Salary: $150,000–$170,000 (NY office). Salary offers are based on skills, experience, and other factors. Successful candidates are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a generous employee benefits package.
