Electronic Trading Risk Manager

Ideal profile has electronic trading experience, equities experience/ knowledge, technical skills (Python) and strong communication to cooperate and challenge traders and PMs as required.

• Partner closely with trading desks to monitor, challenge, and manage market risk across electronic and high-frequency equities strategies
• Provide independent risk oversight for systematic trading activity, ensuring robust controls in a fast-paced, intraday trading environment
• Develop and enhance risk analytics and tooling in Python to improve real-time monitoring, reporting, and trader-facing insight
• Support stress testing, scenario analysis, and exposure monitoring across complex equity and listed derivatives positions
• Act as a key interface between risk and trading, providing clear, commercially aware challenge and strengthening desk-level decision making

• Background in market risk, electronic trading risk, or algo trading risk within an investment bank or proprietary trading environment
• Strong understanding of equities products; listed derivatives / options experience beneficial but not essential
• Solid Python skills with experience building or enhancing risk or analytics tools
• Comfortable working directly with traders in a front-office environment and able to challenge constructively
• Exposure to high-frequency or systematic trading environments highly desirable
• Circa 3–6+ years’ relevant experience, with flexibility for strong candidates
• Strong communication skills and ability to operate effectively in a small, fast-moving team
