Overview

Blackstone is the world’s largest alternative asset manager. The company seeks an experienced insurance regulatory professional to serve as an internal and external subject‑matter expert for its insurance clients, supporting internal analysis of assets originated for the business’s insurance clients and assisting those clients in the same. This role will help Blackstone and its insurance clients understand and adapt to insurance regulatory policy, and collaborate closely with deal teams, legal and compliance functions to deliver tailored solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and subject‑matter expert on insurance regulatory issues related to Blackstone’s private credit and alternative investment funds within the U.S. insurance markets.
  • Review Blackstone investments for insurance regulatory issues, advise deal teams and insurance business partners to ensure structures reflect current and emerging regulatory rules.
  • Stay abreast of and communicate developments in NAIC and state accounting policy, focusing on implications for Blackstone’s products and insurance clients.
  • Act as a liaison with external insurance regulatory and policy stakeholders, including insurance regulators and trade associations.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations and due diligence processes, demonstrating insurance accounting expertise and building strong client relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with Blackstone’s deal teams, legal, and compliance functions to provide expert insights and technical knowledge to support tailored solutions to insurance clients.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in insurance, with experience in alternative investments and private credit.
  • Comprehensive understanding of alternative investment vehicles, including private equity, real estate, credit, and other relevant products.
  • Thorough understanding of NAIC and accounting policy work streams and strong ability to communicate these to non‑insurance regulatory audiences.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and proven ability to work effectively across external‑facing client relations and business development functions and internal‑facing groups (finance, legal, operations, etc.).
  • Ability to translate technical knowledge into actionable insights, supporting client engagement, business development and client servicing efforts.
  • Exceptional analytical skills; responsible for evaluating complex alternative investment products and finding innovative solutions to regulatory questions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and colleagues, articulating complex investment concepts in a straightforward manner, and building strong professional relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or a related field is preferred.
  • High motivation, intelligence, organization, and demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.
Additional Requirements
  • May be required to obtain certain securities licenses if the role is client‑facing, involves marketing Blackstone funds, supervising or training securities‑licensed employees, structuring or creating Blackstone products, or advising on marketing plans.
Compensation
  • Expected annual base salary range: $225,000 – $250,000 (actual base salary will be determined by experience, skills, qualifications and job location).
  • Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
  • For roles located outside the U.S., compensation will be based on local market comparables.
