Senior Associate, Audit Supervisor

Location:

Hybrid – 3 days per week (New York City, NY)

Role Overview

New York Life’s Corporate Audit Department, accountable to the Audit Committee and senior management, evaluates the effectiveness of controls across the company’s diverse businesses. The Auditor Supervisor plans, scopes, tests, and reports on corporate functions and finance operations. This position provides advisory services, supports risk‑based audits, and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to strengthen controls.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead audit processes from planning through reporting with minimal supervision.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop audit programs tailored to key business risks.
  • Execute testing procedures to evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Communicate results, observations, and recommendations clearly to audit management and stakeholders.
  • Draft high‑quality audit observations and oversee timely follow‑up on remediation of findings.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
  • Support the development of junior auditors by reviewing their work, providing feedback, and sharing knowledge.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (advanced degree a plus).
  • Three to five years of audit experience, preferably in financial services or a regulated environment.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or CIA (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of audit assignments with limited oversight.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical‑thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, self‑motivated attitude with strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with data analytics, data visualization, and AI tools; experience with Tableau, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or ChatGPT is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel domestically on occasion (less than 10%).
Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $81,000 – $105,000

Overtime:
Exempt

Discretionary bonus:
Eligible

Sales bonus:
Not applicable

Actual base salary will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Employees are also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and may qualify for an incentive program.
