Research credit investments in support of fixed‑income sales & trading, debt capital markets and buy‑side clients that buy and sell the firm’s credit products.
Credit Trading Desk Analyst Responsibilities- Perform credit due diligence to determine credit risk and relative value: analyze company reports, collect data, participate in company calls, attend conferences and investor meetings, question management, engage industry experts, and model expectations.
- Make credit research recommendations in support of RENTD capital.
- Supplement clients’ research with additional credit support.
- Directly support sales with supplemental credit teach‑ins, participation in client calls and buy‑side sales meetings.
- Directly support traders by monitoring and advising on desk positions and trading levels.
- Support the debt capital markets process by analyzing new bond issues, educating S & T and buy‑side on new issue credit risk and relative value, and providing client feedback and inquiry back to the syndicate desk.
- Apply deep experience, proven judgement, and industry resources to make credit product investment recommendations with a performance track record commensurate with experience and skill level.
- Continue to cultivate and develop industry resources to build expertise.
- Develop client relationships with strong interpersonal skills, applying highly developed written and oral communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly.
- Take a proactive approach to risk management in the fixed‑income trading business.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior analysts.
- Apply industry/market/product knowledge to drive revenue production and business, identifying and cultivating reverse client inquiry to facilitate origination opportunities.
- BA/BS degree.
- CFA designation or equivalent knowledge.
- Licenses required:
Series 7, Series 63, Series 52 (muni analyst only). - Minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
- Advanced knowledge of industry, market and products.
- Proven ability to develop, nurture and monetize "trusted advisor" client relationships with senior executives.
- Excellent interpersonal style, good listening skills, and ability to communicate highly complex ideas clearly.
- Strong partnering and leadership skills in a complex, matrixed environment.
- MBA degree with finance focus.
- Additional CFA designation.
- 14+ years of related work experience.
- Experience recruiting, mentoring and coaching.
