Robert Half Financial Services are hiring for a Family Office Finance & Accounting Manager role for an Investment firm located in midtown Manhattan New York. Our client requires a CPA and 6+ years Finance and Accounting experience at a Family Office, Private Investment or Private Equity firm. Must have knowledge of FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, GAAP, month close and financial reporting.
The role is 5 days per week in the midtown Manhattan office.
This Finance & Accounting Manager role sits at the intersection of accounting, financial analysis, and portfolio monitoring, offering direct exposure to the principal and meaningful visibility into business performance and decision‑making.
Responsibilities- Portfolio Oversight & Financial Monitoring
- Act as a key finance point of contact across portfolio companies, focusing on financial health, performance trends, and cash flow visibility.
- Review monthly financials, management reports, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify potential issues.
- Monitor weekly cash flows and liquidity position; track variances vs. expectations.
- Analyze flash forecasts and short‑term outlooks, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Review and challenge annual budgets and rolling forecasts, including key assumptions and underlying drivers.
- Assess Cap Ex plans and capital allocation decisions, including downstream financial implications.
- Identify performance trends, anomalies, and emerging risks, and proactively flag to family office leadership.
- Reporting & Communication
- Consolidate and synthesize insights across portfolio companies for family office reporting.
- Deliver clear, actionable updates to the principal, highlighting key issues and recommended actions.
- Support the evolution of reporting packages, KPIs, and dashboards to improve visibility and decision‑making.
- Control & Audit Oversight
- Serve as a control function, ensuring financial discipline and consistency across portfolio companies.
- Support annual audit processes, including coordination with internal auditors and review of outputs.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to internal controls, financial processes, and reporting quality.
The Finance & Accounting Manager role is 5 days per week in the midtown Manhattan office. Applicants must be able to travel to this location, have relevant experience for the role, and be eligible to work in the United States. The salary is flexible and depends on experience and level; the range is $150‑175k base plus bonus.
