General Catalyst is a dynamic and rapidly growing venture capital company seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our Management Company team.
Job OverviewAs the AP and Treasury Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Accounts Payable (AP) and Treasury functions. This role reports to the Management Company Controller and requires a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in AP, Treasury, and finance operations management, specifically ensuring the efficient operation of our financial systems, Concur and Net Suite.
Responsibilities- Finance Systems Management – Oversee the maintenance and optimization of finance systems, including Concur and Net Suite; ensure system functionality meets evolving needs; collaborate with IT to implement system upgrades and enhancements.
- Accounts Payable Management – Supervise the AP process from invoice receipt to payment disbursement; review and approve vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies; manage vendor relationships and address inquiries or discrepancies promptly; develop and enforce AP policies and procedures; handle year‑end 1099 processing and evaluate internal controls.
- Treasury Management – Oversee cash management activities, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and bank reconciliations; execute daily cash transactions, including payments, wire transfers, and deposits; monitor banking relationships and recommend optimization strategies; provide daily cash reporting.
- Expense Management – Review and approve employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies; develop and maintain expense reimbursement policies; identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Team Leadership – Lead and provide guidance to a team of 1‑2 individuals; foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the greater team.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or professional certification (CPA, CTP) preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance roles focusing on Accounts Payable, Treasury, and finance operations.
- Proficiency in finance systems, particularly Concur and Net Suite, with a track record of system implementation and optimization.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and internal controls.
- Experience processing ACH payments and domestic/international wire transfers and overseeing banking relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, able to drive results in a fast‑paced environment.
- Detail‑oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
