Position Title: Controller

About the Role

The organization is seeking a Controller who possesses experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry. This role is pivotal in overseeing financial operations while contributing to the company’s growth and culture, fostering a culture of support, innovation, and accountability. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and highly organized, with a strong commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a financial team in a dynamic environment that is expanding rapidly.

The Controller will work closely with the Co-Controller and other key stakeholders, ensuring the company’s financial integrity as it scales operations.

Salary Range

$120,000 - $160,000 / Year DOE

Controller Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Manage cash flow and provide financial insights for senior leadership
  • Lead and mentor the accounting and payroll teams, establishing performance expectations
  • Ensure the accounting team is completing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks efficiently
  • Provide ongoing training and development, focusing on both technical skills and leadership growth.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and maintain strong internal controls
  • Streamline accounting processes and implement technology solutions for efficiency
  • Conduct financial planning for new locations and acquisitions
  • Provide actionable financial insights to support operational decisions
  • Oversee audits and identify opportunities for process improvements
Controller Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of financial management experience in multi-unit hospitality
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including formulas
  • Supervisory experience in financial roles
  • Experience with acquisitions or onboarding businesses
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • CPA/CMA is preferred
  • Experience with Restaurant 365 is preferred
