The ideal candidate will have experience in leveraged finance, restructuring, or a combination of both, and will play a key role advising private equity sponsors, lenders, and corporate clients on a broad range of financing and distressed transactions.
This role offers exposure to:
- Complex leveraged and acquisition financings
- Distressed debt and special situations
- In‑court and out‑of‑court restructurings
- Cross‑border transactions involving sophisticated capital structures
- Cravath‑scale base salary and bonus structure (top of the New York market)
- Total compensation for mid‑level and senior associates reaches mid‑to‑high six figures

Key Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate credit agreements, commitment letters, and ancillary financing documents
- Advise clients on capital structure, liability management, and restructuring strategies
- Support execution of leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and refinancings
- Assist on Chapter 11 proceedings and out‑of‑court restructurings
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders including financial advisors and investment professionals
- Manage transaction timelines and contribute to client‑facing strategy discussions
- J.D. from a top‑tier law school with strong academic credentials
- 3–6 years of experience at a leading law firm in leveraged finance, restructuring, or banking
- Experience representing private equity sponsors, lenders, or corporate borrowers
- Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex transactions in a fast‑paced environment
- Admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility required)
