Operating Partner, FinanceThe Operating Partner, Finance is a key leader responsible for transforming and creating value within assigned portfolio companies. As the crucial link between the Bloom Equity team and senior management, you provide best‑in‑class advisory and operating support to drive growth, acquisitions, and performance goals. The role requires strong finance expertise in FP&A, accounting, merger integration, and familiarity with all finance sub‑functions, with prior experience as an operating CFO or finance executive strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Drive transformation by serving as the chief architect for value creation, implementing operating processes, playbooks, and strategic plans within portfolio companies.
- Provide active leadership and coaching, delivering hands‑on assistance and direct advisory support to portfolio company boards and management teams.
- Serve as interim management, stepping into temporary roles within portfolio companies until permanent executives are hired.
- Monitor performance management, establishing and tracking operational KPIs, including sales and marketing targets, gross margins, and controllable expenses.
- Drive strategic planning, collaborating with CEOs and the Bloom team to develop and refine ongoing strategic and operating plans.
- Represent Bloom Equity in portfolio management activities and interface with external strategic, operational, and legal resources.
- Perform investment due diligence, collaborating with investment teams to evaluate management, processes, and cost structures of prospective investments.
- Deliver operational excellence by developing standardized diagnostic templates and analytical approaches for use across the partnership and portfolio.
- Executive experience with a proven track record of building shareholder value as a former C‑suite executive or operating partner in businesses of scale, with at least 15 years of work experience.
- Financial expertise in finance operations, including deep experience with typical finance processes and systems.
- Sector depth: at least 10 years in a relevant operating role within a mid‑size to global enterprise software or technology‑enabled services business or private equity operating group.
- Collaborative mindset: proven experience operating in an agile, team‑oriented environment, working as part of a collective team rather than as individual contributors.
- PE acumen: significant experience working under private‑equity ownership, with prior board experience preferred.
- Operational expertise: deep knowledge of key enterprise software metrics and the ability to drive accountability at all organizational levels, with a record of advising or operating in businesses that have undergone significant operational changes, cost controls, and value maximization efforts.
- Change management: comfortable making challenging decisions involving organizational and strategic changes, with strong ability to handle highly complex and high‑pressure situations.
- Strategic balance: demonstrated ability to balance near‑term tactical needs with long‑term strategic requirements, translating private‑equity investment conviction into operational reality.
- Execution focus: proven wins in building and managing organizations characterized by operational excellence, budget efficacy, and delivery against all operating KPIs for both top‑ and bottom‑line growth.
- Leadership: a strong, passionate leader and brand ambassador, energized by rapid change and committed to building high‑performance, collaborative teams.
- Strong work ethic: able to be on standby whenever required, handling high‑pressure situations and quick turnaround times.
- Education:
top‑tier education with a relevant advanced degree (MBA, JD, or equivalent) or higher.
1099 Contract – Compensation range: $180,000–$250,000
