Position: Chief Financial Officer at The END Fund
Location: New York

The END Fund is the world's leading collaborative philanthropic investment vehicle dedicated to controlling and eliminating neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).

The END Fund's vision is to ensure people can live healthy and prosperous lives free of the risk of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). NTDs are parasitic and bacterial infectious diseases – including intestinal worms, river blindness, trachoma, schistosomiasis, and lymphatic filariasis – that affect over 1.7 billion people globally.

Since our founding in 2012 through 2025, with our partners, the END Fund has provided over 1.86 billion treatments for NTDs worth more than $3 billion. To continue to drive impact and achieve its vision, the END Fund focuses on:

  • Mobilizing and investing resources for maximum impact.
  • Advocating for innovative, integrated and cost-effective NTD programs.
  • Facilitating philanthropic and private sector engagement to end these diseases.

By engaging a community of philanthropists and taking a systems approach, the END Fund works in collaboration with governments, local and international NGOs, pharmaceutical companies, and academic partners on the global campaign to control and eliminate the most prevalent NTDs by 2030. The END Fund works globally in 30 countries, with a primary emphasis in Africa.

About the Role

The END Fund is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the organization's global finance function, overseeing financial planning, accounting, grants administration, audits, payroll, and compliance across the US, UK, and Kenya. Reporting to the Interim Chief Executive Officer (Interim CEO), the CFO will hold overall accountability for all finance functions and will be ultimately responsible for the organization's financial health and integrity.

What You'll Do

This role calls for a strategic, mission-driven finance leader with deep nonprofit expertise, strong cost management skills, a sophisticated understanding of managing complex finances across multiple entities, and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights for the CEO, Board, and cross-functional teams. The CFO will strengthen financial systems, drive efficiency, promote data-driven decision making, and serve as a trusted advisor, partnering with leadership to support growth, maximize impact, and advance the END Fund's mission to eliminate NTDs within this decade.

Working closely with the Interim CEO, leadership colleagues, and Board of Directors during a time of transition for the organization, the CFO will provide sound information, advice, and thought partnership on organizational strategies and plans to ensure The END Fund can deliver the greatest impact. This includes ensuring the organization has robust financial controls and due diligence processes in place to offer assurance to funders and to confidently balance risk with the needs of partners.

The role calls for a qualified accountant and strategic, mission-driven finance leader with deep nonprofit expertise and exceptional strategic and technical finance skills. The ideal candidate is a proven expert in forensic accounting and analysis, including knowledge of UK/US accounting principles and a proven track record in effective management of operational costs. Ideally, they will have experience working within an international nonprofit environment and with the complexity of managing program-restricted funding streams and compliance needs.

The CFO will also be a highly effective communicator, demonstrating fluency and comfort presenting complex financial information to a wide variety of audiences, and influencing a range of senior stakeholder groups including END Fund senior leadership, Board and donors. The CFO must also be able to attract, develop, and motivate a high-performing and diverse finance team while empowering them to be the best they can be.

Above all else, we are seeking a values-driven leader. You must embody character, commitment, and competence – with character as the cornerstone of our search. We are looking for someone who leads with humility, integrity, courage, love, trust, and hope, inspiring others through service and vision. Such a leader…
