Director RTR, Accounting
The Director of Accounting Operations leads Warner Music Group’s financial shared service organization, supporting the US Business Units in all accounting and cash‑management functions.
Job Description- Ensure effective financial internal controls; identify and remediate control gaps.
- Ensure accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated statements by investigating and monitoring discrepancies and providing explanations.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of accounting managers and analysts, both onshore and offshore, to prepare consolidated financial information and reports.
- Handle acquisition integration as needed.
- Lead special projects requested by business units and corporate.
- Provide excellent customer service and develop strong relationships with business unit finance organizations, including CFOs and VPs of Finance.
- Drive continuous process improvement projects that deliver timely results and cost savings.
- Facilitate and bridge gaps between Finance, Accounting, IT, Strategy, and Operations.
- Develop, recommend, and implement strategy for Financial Shared Services functions.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
- Interact with internal and external auditors to resolve potential issues and new transactions; act as primary point of contact for oversight.
- Utilize Blackline to automate and monitor closing tasks and ensure compliance with leadership initiatives.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as required.
- BA/BS in Accounting; a Master’s in Accounting is a plus.
- 8‑10 years of progressive accounting or controllership experience, including 3‑5 years in a Global Business Services (GBS) leadership role supporting CFO-level leadership.
- Strong inventory accounting experience and expertise.
- Revenue recognition experience (ASC 606/IFRS 15).
- Experience in a large, multinational company.
- Strong change‑leadership skills and creative strategic thinking.
- Deep understanding of Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance.
- Quantifiable achievements and a strong track record of success.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to influence and motivate external and internal stakeholders who are not direct reports.
- Team player able to collaborate across business units.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under high pressure.
- Solid project management skills from idea to execution.
- Process‑first mindset, ensuring workflows and systems are clean.
- Demonstrated professional maturity and unwavering integrity.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, including GAAP.
- CPA is a plus.
- SAP S4 Hana
- HFM familiarity
- Blackline experience
Salary Range: $140,000 to $160,000 Annually
