Location: New York

A global organization is seeking an experienced Director of Consolidations to lead the enterprise-wide financial consolidation and reporting function across multiple domestic and international entities. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this role is responsible for overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and organizational requirements.

This position serves as a key technical accounting leader, partnering with executive stakeholders, regional finance teams, and cross-functional departments to drive process improvements, strengthen reporting controls, and support strategic initiatives across a complex, multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities Financial Consolidations & Reporting
  • Lead the end-to-end consolidation process for multiple domestic and international entities, ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of financial results.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and required disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to consolidation reporting and top‑side adjustments.
  • Ensure the integrity of intercompany eliminations, equity roll‑forwards, non‑controlling interests, and other consolidation‑related accounting activities.
Executive & Stakeholder Reporting
  • Prepare and deliver consolidated reporting packages and financial analyses for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Present financial results, trends, and insights to senior management to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Coordinate reporting requirements and submission timelines across multiple business units and subsidiaries.
Technical Accounting Leadership
  • Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on financial reporting and technical accounting matters.
  • Monitor emerging accounting guidance and evaluate the impact of new accounting standards on reporting processes.
  • Provide technical accounting support and guidance to finance teams across the organization.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and reporting procedures.
Systems, Controls & Process Improvement
  • Oversee the administration and optimization of enterprise consolidation systems and related reporting structures.
  • Maintain governance over chart of accounts frameworks, reporting hierarchies, and financial mapping processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and streamline close processes.
  • Partner with finance and technology teams to support system enhancements, upgrades, and reporting initiatives.
Audit & Compliance
  • Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, coordinating audit requests and supporting the review of consolidation processes and financial reporting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Support various audit and compliance initiatives, including employee benefit plan reporting and related financial reviews.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals and managers responsible for consolidation and reporting activities.
  • Establish departmental goals aligned with organizational objectives and drive accountability through performance management and coaching.
  • Foster collaboration across regional finance teams and corporate functions, including Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and external service providers.
  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives within the finance organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA designation required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including significant exposure to complex, multi‑entity consolidations.
  • Prior experience within public accounting and/or large corporate environments strongly preferred.
